◆ Compliance you can trust

Legal trust accounting, built in.

Handling client money is the part of practice you can't get wrong. ORLA includes a full LPUL-designed trust accounting module — so receipts, reconciliations and examiner reports come from the same platform that runs the rest of your firm, with trust kept strictly separate from office.

📒

Immutable trust ledger

An append-only journal — entries can't be edited or deleted, only reversed with a corresponding entry. A clean, defensible audit trail.

⚖️

Three-way reconciliation

Trust bank, cash book and the total of all client ledgers reconciled and cross-checked, with any variance flagged — reconcile monthly with confidence.

🧾

Receipts & controlled money

Sequential, gap-free trust receipts, with controlled money recorded separately from general trust money.

🚫

No overdraw, ever

A client's trust ledger can't go into deficit — the software blocks any transaction that would overdraw the account.

📤

Examiner-ready exports

Client trust statements, receipts and CSV exports produced on demand — everything an external examiner needs, in the format they expect.

🏦

ABA payment batches

Generate ABA files to upload trust payments to your bank as a batch — no re-keying, fewer errors.

A note on readiness & examination. ORLA's trust module is completing independent examination before any firm runs live client money on it. It enforces the core safeguards in software — an immutable journal, no-overdraw protection, gap-free numbering and a strict trust-vs-office separation — and produces the statements and exports your external examiner needs. It does not replace your firm's own external examination, or the professional judgement of the firm's principal; it makes both faster and cleaner.

Trust accounting — questions

Does ORLA include legal trust accounting?

Yes — a full LPUL trust module: an immutable trust ledger, three-way reconciliation, trust receipts and controlled money, examiner-ready statements and CSV exports, and ABA payment batches, with trust funds kept strictly separate from office funds.

Is it LPUL compliant?

It's built to the Legal Profession Uniform Law and Uniform General Rules, with the core safeguards enforced in software: an append-only journal, no-overdraw protection, gap-free receipt and transaction numbering, and a clear trust-vs-office separation. The module itself is completing independent examination before firms run live client money on it. Your firm's own trust records must still be examined by an external examiner — ORLA produces the statements and exports they need.

What is three-way reconciliation?

It checks that the trust bank balance, the trust cash book and the total of all client trust ledgers agree at a point in time. ORLA performs this and flags any variance so you can reconcile monthly as required.

Can it produce trust statements and examiner exports?

Yes — client trust statements and receipts on demand, plus examiner-ready CSV files and statements for an external examiner to review efficiently.

Does it support controlled money and ABA batches?

Yes — controlled money is recorded separately from general trust money, and ORLA generates ABA files so trust payments can be uploaded to your bank as a batch.
